Grandmother's are wonderful and mine was no exception. She was French and could cook and bake with the best of them. This is her recipe so I cannot take credit for developing it, only carrying on the tradition. This is her Merc Coffee Cake, filled with pecans, brown sugar and cinnamon. The cake is moist and flavorful complementing the buttery sweet filling. To me, this is Christmas morning on a plate......available all year long!
